Veterans Business Incubator
Do I need to participate in person?
Yes, all instruction will be provided in-person. Not only will you learn more this way, but training isn’t the only benefit. The opportunity for conversations, unintended interactions and networking are just as important.
SCF takes your safety seriously. We require social distancing and masks per the guidelines of SCF administration.
Do I have to be an SCF student to participate?
No. All programs at the SCF Incubator will be open to the public but SCF students, faculty and staff have priority.
What kind of businesses are accepted?
All businesses will be reviewed on an individual basis.
The program is focused on high growth and technology startups. The SCF Incubator can help traditional small businesses, but there are many other resources including SCORE and SBDC that can also help local small businesses.
The SCF Incubator programs are primarily aimed at traditional venture startups.
Do I have to attend every session?
We understand that situations arise for business owners and will work with you to remain flexible.
However, this is a limited entry program, and we ask that you commit to every session. If you don’t think that you can attend most sessions, we ask that you allow another veteran entrepreneur/company to take your place.
Are there any costs associated with the VBI program?
No, the program is fully sponsored by SCF and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. There is even free, convenient parking.
For the Thursday evening speakers, the program will sponsor pizza and drinks for participants.
